These days, Yerevan is becoming one of the key points on the wine map of the region. On June 5, the traditional wine festival kicked off in the city, annually bringing together producers, experts, tourists, and anyone interested in modern Armenian wine culture. The celebration takes place in the very heart of the capital from June 5 to June 7.
The central streets of Yerevan have once again turned into an open space for tastings, gastronomic discoveries, and cultural events. Dozens of Armenian wineries, restaurants, and industry representatives are participating in the festival. The format of the event has long expanded beyond a local gathering, becoming an important part of the city’s tourism and cultural life.
On the eve of the festival, Armenia also hosted an international sommelier competition, which gathered professionals from various countries. Participants demonstrated tasting skills, knowledge of wine-growing regions, as well as the ability to work with aromatic profiles and gastronomic pairings. The competition became one of the professional platforms where Armenia confirms its increasingly prominent role in the global wine industry.
It is worth noting that four representatives from Ukraine participated in the competition. For Ukrainian sommeliers and specialists, this was an opportunity to present their own experience on an international level, exchange practices, and establish professional contacts with colleagues from Europe and the Caucasus.
Armenia continues to strengthen its status as a country with ancient winemaking traditions and a modern approach to industry development. Hosting large-scale festivals and international professional competitions in Yerevan makes the city an important intersection of wine cultures and professional communities.
The festival in Yerevan will become yet another event that turns the city into a vibrant space of wine, gastronomy, and cultural exchange.
