Women’s Day Copenhagen: How Ukrainian Women in Denmark Create a Space of Strength, Support, and New Opportunities

At the end of spring, Copenhagen hosted an event for Ukrainian women — a charity forum called Woman’s Day Copenhagen, organized by the NGO “GrowON” and supported by “European Ukrainian Business Hub”, “The Space in Art”, “ARK CPH”, and “Friends and Family”.

This was not just a gathering for inspiration or beautiful photos. It was a space for women living in Denmark who are navigating the path of adaptation, building careers, launching their own businesses, and seeking support among their peers.

The forum brought together Ukrainian women from various professions and fields of activity — from beauty technicians and entrepreneurs to psychologists, brand managers, and communication experts. The main idea of the event was to help women avoid losing themselves in a new country, and instead unlock their potential, find new opportunities, and believe in their own strength.

Today, a strong Ukrainian women’s community is actively forming in Copenhagen. Events like this become the very place where new acquaintances, partnerships, projects, and friendships are born. For many Ukrainian women, it is an opportunity to hear the stories of those who have already gone through the adaptation process in Denmark and are ready to share real experience — without idealization or embellishment.

The organizers paid special attention to the following areas during this event:

Beauty business — one of the most popular directions among Ukrainian women in Europe. During the forum, speakers talked about how to find clients in Denmark, how customer service works in Scandinavian countries, and how to promote oneself through social media. The participants of this block included women who have been working in the beauty industry for many years and have successful experience in business development in Denmark. They openly spoke about the difficulties of starting out, mistakes, adaptation, and how not to be afraid of starting over, building trust, and developing their own brand in a new environment.

Participants also discussed personal branding, style, international careers, and confident communication. Women who have worked in major international companies shared their experience, including: Samsung, L’Oréal Groupe, Mars, Toyota, Google, and others. These are women who have built careers in various European countries.

A separate panel of the forum was dedicated to psychology, relationships, self-worth, and internal support, where every participant had the opportunity to ask questions to specialists. After all, adaptation in another country is not only about documents or work, but also about emotional state, support, and the ability to preserve oneself amidst daily challenges.

The organizers, NGO “GrowON”, emphasize that Woman’s Day Copenhagen has not only an educational but also a charitable mission. The event’s charitable component gave it a special significance. Within the framework of Woman’s Day, a fundraiser was organized to support the activities of the “Mama + Me” (“Мама + Я”) foundation, which has been helping orphans, children in family-based care, and children temporarily left without parental custody for 18 years. The collected funds were directed towards supporting children in Ukraine. That is why the forum combines personal development, women’s solidarity, and helping those in need.

The event program included presentations by 11 speakers, free consultations from an accountant and psychologists, networking, beauty activities, photo and video shooting, gifts for everyone, and live communication in a warm atmosphere.

The event became not only a platform for exchanging experience and new ideas, but also an example of how professional development, civic activity, and charity can effectively combine for a common goal.

The organizers emphasized:

“Modern women’s leadership is based not only on professional achievements, but also on social responsibility, the ability to unite people around important values, and helping those in need.”

Such initiatives acquire special significance in times of global challenges, when mutual support, solidarity, and charity become the foundation of strong communities. Today, such forums are becoming an important part of the Ukrainian diaspora’s life in Denmark. They help women avoid being left alone with their difficulties, find motivation, and build a new reality together.

Woman’s Day Copenhagen is about beauty, strength, support, and women’s unity. It is about how Ukrainian women, even far from home, create their own space for development, inspiration, and mutual aid. Such events are proof that Ukrainian women are strong, talented, and capable of inspiring one another even in Denmark. They help women avoid being left alone with their difficulties, find motivation, and build a new reality together.

Woman’s Day Copenhagen is about beauty, strength, support, and women’s unity. It is about how Ukrainian women thrive, even far from their Motherland. And Copenhagen today is becoming not only a city of new opportunities, but also the birthplace of new women’s success stories.
