The island of Crete hosted the presentation of the RIZA / Bridges of Empowerment project — an initiative aimed at supporting Ukrainian women in Greece and creating an environment for their development, connection, and professional growth.
The event was held with the support of the Ukrainian Association in Crete “Leleka” and brought together women seeking new opportunities, knowledge, and a sense of stability in a new country.
As a media partner, Business Woman proudly supports such initiatives, as they create a space where women can find answers to practical needs — from education and health to legal matters, business, and personal development.
An important focus of the meeting was the unequal access to such opportunities. As noted by Antonina, Deputy Head of the Ukrainian Association in Crete “Leleka,” events like this are especially important outside the capital, as most activities are concentrated in Athens, while regions often lack sufficient informational and community support.

The strategic vision of the initiative was highlighted by Hanna Oliinych, Director of Business Woman in Greece and Head of the NGO “Union of Ukrainian Women in Greece.” According to her, the key goal of the project is to create an environment where women do not compete but empower one another, shaping a new culture of collaboration.
Within the project, participants will gain not only knowledge but also practical tools for development — from launching their own business to scaling it within the European environment.
This meeting once again confirmed:
— there is a strong demand for meaningful and honest dialogue
— women need access to knowledge, connections, and support
— such initiatives truly create opportunities and change lives
The project is implemented by the NGO “Union of Ukrainian Women in Greece” in partnership with the “United Ukrainian Diaspora in Greece,” with the support of international partners.
RIZA / Bridges of Empowerment is more than an educational program. It is a bridge that helps women find confidence, support, and new points of growth in a new country.
