Up to UAH 2.5 million for business development: Ukraine has updated the grant program “Own Business”

Since September 1, 2026, the updated state grant program “Own Business” has been operating in Ukraine, which provides for significantly higher amounts of financing and new conditions for supporting entrepreneurs. From now on, the maximum amount of the grant for scaling the business will reach UAH 2.5 million, and for starting your own business — UAH 500 thousand.

This is reported by the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine. Its main goal is to stimulate the creation of new enterprises, the development of production and the emergence of new jobs.

One of the key changes was the rejection of fixed amounts of grants. If earlier entrepreneurs could receive 200 or 350 thousand UAH, now the amount of support will be determined depending on the scale of the project, field of activity, region and additional criteria.

In addition, for entrepreneurs who are just starting their own business, the requirement to create new jobs will no longer be mandatory. For a business that plans to expand, it is enough to create one new workplace.

The program also introduces an advanced bonus system. Young entrepreneurs, veterans, internally displaced persons, VAT payers, owners of Ukrainian patents, as well as businesses operating in frontline regions or implementing projects in priority sectors of the economy will be able to receive additional funding.

The maximum bonus can increase the size of the grant by 50%.

Individuals over the age of 18, individual entrepreneurs and legal entities of private law can apply for participation in the program through the Diya portal. After submission, the application will be checked at an authorized bank, evaluated and, if necessary, interviewed at the employment center. The final decision will be made by the State Employment Center.

Since the beginning of the program in July 2022, the state has already approved more than 34 thousand grants for a total amount of almost 9 billion UAH. Thanks to this support, more than 60 thousand jobs were created, and more than 7 thousand Ukrainians were able to start their own business.
