On March 16, an event combining energy, art, and the deep symbolism of Ukrainian culture took place at Khmelnytskyi NPP. The enterprise officially set a Ukrainian record in the “Size” category — the largest mural in the form of a Ukrainian national ornament (vyshyvanka), painted on the reactor units of the nuclear power plant at a height of 45.4 meters. The mural covers two power units of Khmelnytskyi NPP: the total area of the painting is over 1,800 square meters, its length exceeds 220 meters, and the maximum height reaches over 9 meters.
It is symbolic that the record was set on the anniversary of the synchronization of the Ukrainian power system with the European power grid – an event that became an important step in Ukraine’s integration into the European energy space.

The idea of creating such a symbolic project arose several years ago during the renovation work of the reactor compartment of the power units. First, the Ukrainian ornament appeared on the first power unit, and later on the second. Thus, the reactor installations of the nuclear power plant received a unique design in the style of Ukrainian embroidery – a symbol of identity, strength and unity.
As noted by KhNPP Director General Andriy Kozyura:
“For Ukrainians, embroidery is not just an ornament. It is a symbol of our culture, history, and a spiritual amulet. We wanted this amulet to be on our power units as well. Today, these reactor units are the only ones in the world that have such a design. This is a sign that Ukrainian energy has its own soul, strength, and identity.”

The official recording of the record and the presentation of diplomas was carried out by the representative of the Book of World Records, Angelina Nedashkevych. The following were awarded with distinctions and diplomas of the Book of World Records:
• General Director of the branch of the Khmelnytskyi Enterprise
NPP “NNEGC “Energoatom” JSC Kozyura Andriy Rostyslavovych;
• Joint-Stock Company “National”
nuclear power generation company “Energoatom”;
• Branch of Khmelnytskyi NPP
JSC “NAEC “Energoatom”.

Today, the power units of the Khmelnytskyi NPP not only produce electricity for the country, but also carry a powerful symbolic message – about Ukrainian tradition, strength and invincibility. Like the embroidery, which is passed down from generation to generation as a talisman, this unique mural has become a sign of spiritual protection for energy workers and all of Ukraine.
