Ukrainian Literature Resonates in Yerevan: Writer and Representative of “Old Lion Publishing House” Participated in an International Meeting

As part of the Yerevan Book Festival 2026, representatives of the Ukrainian community in the Armenian capital joined an international meeting that brought together publishers and authors from around the world.

Ukraine was represented at this prestigious event by Ivan Fedechko, a Ukrainian writer and representative of “Old Lion Publishing House” (Vydavnytstvo Staroho Leva).

This publishing house is one of the most prominent in Ukraine and actively promotes contemporary Ukrainian literature abroad.

Ivan Fedechko’s presence allowed the international audience to hear the voice of living Ukrainian literature directly from its creator and ambassador.

The meeting opened up excellent opportunities for networking with the international publishing community. Participants discussed trends in modern book publishing, the nuances of the creative writing process in Ukraine, and prospects for translating and distributing Ukrainian works globally.

Such events are especially significant today, as Ukrainian culture increasingly steps onto the global stage. Through the voices of its writers and the dedication of its publishers, Ukraine engages in a profound cultural dialogue with the world, introducing international readers to its identity, history, and values.

For the Ukrainian community in Yerevan, taking part in the festival alongside native creators was a vital opportunity to strengthen cultural ties, unite around their native word, and help Ukrainian books confidently secure their place in the international arena.

The Yerevan Book Festival has once again proven that literature knows no borders. The participation of the Ukrainian writer and publisher highlighted yet again that culture and creativity remain among the most powerful tools helping Ukraine speak to the world at full voice.
