Ukrainian cinema today is more than just art. It is the voice of the country, a tool of cultural diplomacy, and a space that unites Ukrainians far from home. This was precisely the case with the premiere of the Ukrainian comedy “When Will You Get a Divorce?”, which took place in Zurich with the support of the UAFILM.CH team.
Business Woman Magazine acted as the media partner for the screening, consistently supporting cultural projects aimed at promoting modern Ukraine worldwide.
Among the guests at the event was Olesya Tarasenko — President of the Swiss-Ukrainian Association VIDNOVA and Director of the Swiss foreign representative office of Business Woman Magazine. She emphasized that such events hold special value for the Ukrainian community, as they create a space for communication, mutual support, and the preservation of national identity.
Today, Ukrainian cinema is confidently asserting itself on the international stage. Through film, the world becomes acquainted with Ukrainian culture, contemporary stories, humor, values, and human experiences. That is why screenings of Ukrainian movies abroad are a vital component of cultural diplomacy and the building of a positive image for Ukraine.
For many years, the UAFILM.CH team has been introducing Ukrainian cinema to both Ukrainian and Swiss audiences by organizing regular screenings, premieres, and meetups that serve as a rallying point for the community and a way to support Ukrainian art.
“Every evening like this is not just about watching a movie. It is an opportunity to feel part of a large Ukrainian community, to meet friends, to speak in our native language, and to realize once again that culture is capable of uniting people regardless of borders,” notes Olesya Tarasenko.
