Today, Ukrainian culture is one of the most critical tools for preserving national identity and uniting our citizens abroad. That is why it is incredibly important for the team of Business Woman magazine to support projects that popularize Ukrainian values, art, and cultural heritage on an international level.
As Olesia Tarasenko, Director of the Business Woman magazine representative office in Switzerland, I always approach initiatives that foster the development of Ukrainian culture and strengthen ties within the Ukrainian community abroad with great interest. For this reason, it was a particular pleasure for me to attend the screening of the Ukrainian feature film “When Will You Get Married?”, which took place in Switzerland.
This evening became not just a movie screening, but a true cultural event that united Ukrainians and friends of Ukraine around contemporary Ukrainian cinematography. The film left a great impression with its combination of a light romantic story, subtle humor, high-quality directorial work, and sincere emotions that resonate with viewers regardless of their country of residence.
Despite its entertaining format, the film addresses important themes of finding one’s own path, family values, love, personal choice, and the courage to open new chapters in life. It is precisely such stories that help to speak about Ukrainians in a modern language and shape a positive image of Ukraine in the world.
It is especially inspiring to witness how Ukrainian cinema confidently expands beyond the national market and finds its audience in various countries. Cultural diplomacy plays an extremely vital role today, and such screenings represent another step toward popularizing Ukrainian art on the international stage.
I sincerely thank the UAFILM.CH team and Viktoria Viktorova for the high level of organization of the screenings in Switzerland and their systematic work in promoting Ukrainian cinema. It is a great honor for me and the VIDNOVA team to serve as media partners for this project and to support initiatives that strengthen the Ukrainian community, popularize our culture, and create new opportunities for international cultural dialogue.
I am convinced that it is through art, culture, and collaborative projects that we continue to tell the world the story of modern Ukraine — strong, talented, and open to the world.
