Ukraine continues to expand its state support system for families with children. During the first six months of the updated programs, tens of thousands of Ukrainian families have already taken advantage of the new types of assistance introduced by the government. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko, on her official Telegram channel.
According to her, 147,000 families are currently receiving increased child care benefits. The monthly payments amount to UAH 7,000 during the first year of the child’s life, and UAH 10,500 for families raising a child with a disability.
Another 10,000 Ukrainian families have already utilized the “eYasla” (eNursery) program, which provides a monthly payment of UAH 8,000, or UAH 12,000 if the child has a disability. This assistance is granted until the child reaches the age of three, provided that one of the parents is officially employed full-time.
In addition, 32,000 women received pregnancy and childbirth assistance in the amount of UAH 7,000 per month, and 51,000 Ukrainian women have already benefited from the increased lump-sum childbirth allowance of UAH 50,000.
According to Yulia Svyrydenko, the state will continue to develop a long-term policy of supporting families with children, as it is particularly crucial during the war to create conditions where Ukrainian families feel more protected and have the necessary financial support.
For Ukrainian women who balance motherhood, career, and developing their own business, such programs can become an important support tool during the first years of a child’s life, helping to maintain a balance between family and professional fulfillment.
