Parliament Dialogue and Honoring the Memory: Dmytro Mykysha’s Visit to the Ukrainian Community in Armenia

On May 6th, Dmytro Mykysha, Member of Parliament of Ukraine and Head of the Verkhovna Rada Inter-Parliamentary Relations Group with the Republic of Armenia, paid an informal and unplanned visit to the office of the Ukrainian community during his trip to Armenia.

In a warm and relaxed atmosphere, we had the opportunity to discuss a wide range of issues — Ukrainian-Armenian cooperation, the lives of Ukrainians in Armenia, the community’s activities, and the support and protection of the rights of Ukrainian citizens abroad.

Such meetings are particularly valuable, as genuine human dialogue allows for a better understanding of current challenges and community needs, while fostering the search for common ways of interaction and support.

On the same day, Mr. Mykysha visited the grave of Gevorg Mkrtchyan, a volunteer of Armenian descent who died defending Ukraine in the Kharkiv region. As this region is Dmytro Mykysha’s homeland, the visit was deeply personal and emotional.

During the visit, he honored the Hero’s memory, spoke with his parents and family, and expressed words of support and gratitude for their son’s ultimate sacrifice.

We sincerely appreciate such meetings and the attention shown to the Ukrainian community in Armenia. It is through memory, humanity, and mutual support that true friendship between nations is forged.
