On Europe Day, the Ukrainian community in Argentina and representatives of Ukraine in Brazil joined European partners in large-scale sports and cultural events that became a symbol of unity, solidarity, and support for shared democratic values.
In Buenos Aires, diplomats, representatives of embassies from nearly all European countries working in Argentina, as well as Ukrainians and Dasha Fedchenko, took part in the race. Even while far from their homeland, they continue to carry Ukraine in their hearts and represent it within the international community.
The Ukrainian team completed the distance carrying the national flag of Ukraine, which waved throughout the entire race as a symbol of resilience, dignity, and faith in victory. Adult participants ran 7 kilometers, while Ukrainian children completed a 3-kilometer race, demonstrating the strength and spirit of the new generation of Ukrainians even thousands of kilometers away from home.
At the same time, in Brazil, the Embassy of Ukraine participated in the 19th European Union Run – Sunset Edition, held on the Esplanade of Ministries in Brasília as part of the official Europe Week 2026 program.
Since 2025, the Embassy of Ukraine in Brazil has been part of EUNIC Brasília — a network that unites European embassies and national cultural institutes of European Union member states to promote cultural and educational initiatives and strengthen mutual understanding between nations.
This year, representatives of the Ukrainian diplomatic corps in Brazil joined the event in various roles: serving on the organizing committee, running the race distances, and supporting participants with motivational posters and Ukrainian symbols along the route.
The European Union Run in Brazil brought together around two thousand participants in an atmosphere of sport, integration, and celebration of shared European values — freedom, solidarity, diversity, and cooperation.
Especially symbolic was the fact that this year Latin America stood in unison with Europe. Argentina and Brazil, together with European partners, demonstrated that support for Ukraine knows no borders. This is not only diplomacy — it is genuine human solidarity, where sport, culture, and shared values unite people across continents.
During the events, words of support for Ukraine were heard, Ukrainian flags waved proudly, and the atmosphere was filled with friendship, mutual respect, and faith in a peaceful future.
The Ukrainian community in Latin America expresses sincere gratitude to the organizers, diplomats, athletes, volunteers, and all participants for their unity with Ukraine. Such events once again prove that even thousands of kilometers away from home, Ukraine is not alone, and the world continues to unite around the values of freedom, democracy, and humanity.
