The Book of World Records has officially recognized the Office of the Representative of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights for its support of the large-scale international eco-initiative “1 Million Trees of Memory and Life,” which united hundreds of locations across more than 30 countries.
During the official certification of the world record for the largest number of organized locations for simultaneous tree planting, a diploma from the Book of World Records was presented to the Human Rights Commissioner, Dmytro Lubinets.

Hanna Krysiuk, Director General and Founder of the Book of World Records, thanked the Ombudsman’s Office for supporting the global “Greening of the Planet” initiative and facilitating tree-planting events in all regions of Ukraine.
Regional representative offices of the Ombudsman played a pivotal role in the initiative, actively coordinating plantings across various provinces. This collaboration successfully engaged a wide range of participants, including government officials, business representatives, the public sector, military personnel, and the families of fallen heroes.

According to various estimates, the Ombudsman’s regional offices facilitated nearly half of all planting locations in Ukraine, making a significant contribution to the international record.
The diploma presentation ceremony took place during a meeting of regional representatives from across Ukraine. The event was also attended by Business Woman Club member Yulia Slaiman and the Deputy Head of the Ombudsman’s Office, Mykhailo Karpenko.
In a symbolic gesture, a gift—a brooch from the brand Zarmilkas, founded by two-time world record holder Liudmyla Shanska—was presented. The gift served as a token of gratitude and a reminder of an event that united people around essential values: life, memory, and the future.

During the meeting, an invitation was extended to join upcoming environmental initiatives this fall: the “Planting Trees of Peace” and “Grove of Children’s Dreams” campaigns, dedicated to the memory of fallen Ukrainian children.
This initiative stands not only as a world record but as a prime example of how collective action can create a space for memory, support, and unity.
