During a working visit to Odesa, Olena Shevchuk, Advisor to the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the Republic of Armenia, attended a solemn reception dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Montenegro’s independence.
The event was held with the participation of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Montenegro to Ukraine and the Republic of Armenia, Borjanka Simićević, the Honorary Consul of Montenegro in Odesa, Stanislav Dovhyi, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps, government authorities, the public sector, and the business community.


During the reception, Olena Shevchuk conveyed greetings from the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the occasion of Montenegro’s national holiday and expressed gratitude for the consistent support of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.
In her speech, Ms. Borjanka Simićević emphasized the importance of friendly relations between Montenegro and Ukraine, as well as the value of international solidarity during a challenging time for our country. A special symbolism was added to the event by the fact that the Ambassador of Montenegro to Ukraine simultaneously represents her state in the Republic of Armenia, which contributes to the development of inter-state dialogue and humanitarian cooperation.

The event took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, becoming yet another testament to the strong ties between our countries, based on mutual respect, support, and shared European values.
