Legendary Ensemble “Vatra” Sets Ukraine Record for 45 Years of Creative Activity

The Lviv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre hosted the “Our Bilozir” concert, dedicated to the birthday of the prominent Ukrainian composer, musician, and founder of the legendary ensemble “Vatra,” Ihor Bilozir.

The event brought together fans of Ukrainian music, cultural figures, artists, and friends of the composer’s creative legacy. A special atmosphere of the evening was created by the performances of Oksana Bilozir and the group “Vatra of the 80s,” who gifted the audience their favorite songs, which have long since become part of the cultural code of Ukrainians.

The touching finale of the concert was the performance of the song “Glory to Ukraine” featuring creative ensembles and children with disabilities, which united the hall in a sincere feeling of pride for Ukrainian culture and its creators.

The climax of the evening was the official establishment of the Record of Ukraine in the “Art” category for 45 years of continuous creative activity of the vocal-instrumental ensemble “Vatra.”

The initiative for the record came from the “Little Victories” (“Malenki Peremohy”) Charitable Foundation, and the achievement was recorded by Zoryana Sozanska, a representative of the Book of World Records.

The award was presented to the iconic ensemble “Vatra” of the Lviv Philharmonic in the person of Oksana Bilozir—People’s Artist of Ukraine, state and public figure, who has remained the continuous soloist of the group for decades.

Created by Ihor Bilozir, the ensemble “Vatra” became a true symbol of the Ukrainian stage, shaping an entire musical era. Its work has united generations of listeners, and its songs remain relevant and recognizable far beyond Ukraine today.

The established record became not only a recognition of the collective’s creative longevity but also a confirmation of its special place in the history of Ukrainian culture. After all, 45 years of continuous activity is an example of dedication to art, preservation of national heritage, and service to Ukrainian song.

Today, “Vatra” continues to inspire, unite, and remind us of the power of culture, which helps to preserve national identity even in the most difficult times.
