In the very heart of the Itapúa Department, in the welcoming city of Coronel Bogado, the XVIII National Immigrant Fiesta (Fiesta Nacional del Inmigrante) has concluded. This is not just a cultural event; it is a true explosion of emotions, colors, flavors, and sounds that proves every year: Paraguay is a home where the fates and traditions of dozens of nations are harmoniously intertwined.
This year, the festival turned into a kaleidoscope of cultures. Guests of the celebration felt as if they had taken a trip around the world: they admired the elegance of folk crafts, surrendered to the rhythm of fiery dances, and, of course, tasted the world thanks to the gastronomic diversity.
Cultural Code of Communities: From Polesia to Sakura

Ukrainian Community
The Ukrainian diaspora in Paraguay has deep roots—the first families arrived here in the first half of the 20th century. Having settled on the fertile lands of Itapúa, they brought with them hard work and an immense love for their native culture. At the festival, Ukrainians literally mesmerized the audience: colorful vyshyvankas flashing in the dynamic hopak by the grupo fol Kolos, and the incredible aromas of authentic cuisine left no guest indifferent.

Polish Community
Polish immigrants, who arrived in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, brought refined European culture to the southern regions of Paraguay. Their performances are a combination of nobility and drive. Traditional costumes with bright ribbons and the filigree precision of folk dances reminded everyone of the unbreakable connection of generations with European roots.

Czech Republic
Czech and Slovak families, who once laid the foundation for local agricultural colonies, painted the evening with the color of Central Europe. Their national costumes impressed with details, and the fiery music and traditional treats became a true gastronomic and visual decoration of the festival.

Brazilian Community
Brazilian expression burst into the festival like a wave of hot summer. Migration in the 1960s–1980s made Brazilian culture an integral part of Paraguay’s border life. Energetic dances, which made it impossible to stand still, and juicy national dishes instantly ignited the audience.
A Celebration Where Hearts Units
The intercultural fiesta in Coronel Bogado once again proved: diversity is the wealth of Paraguay. Waves of immigration did not dissolve the cultures of other nations; on the contrary, they created a unique, bright mosaic of languages, art, and culinary traditions. Here, under one sky, different peoples do not just coexist peacefully but create a new history together, making every guest fall in love with this incredible world of unity and friendship.
Paraguayan Community: Hosts of the Celebration and Fiery Asado

Of course, the heart of the festival was the Paraguayan community itself, which greeted guests with the full scale of Latin American hospitality. The ground shook from the rhythmic and graceful national dances, where women in snow-white “ñandutí” dresses twirled and demonstrated incredible grace.
The main magnet of the evening was the fragrant smoke and incredible aroma coming from the Paraguayan chefs. Real asado, juicy meat cooked over an open fire according to secret local recipes, gathered hundreds of gourmets around it. It was true gastronomic magic that united people better than any words.

Other Communities
The celebration was supported with flags and smiles by representatives of Germany, Argentina, Italy, Venezuela, and many other countries. Each pavilion was a separate universe with unique souvenirs, handmade crafts, and homemade delicacies.
Decoration of the Evening: Royal Brilliance of Daiana Balettbo
A special, truly magical moment of the event was the opening, attended by a special guest. The true decoration and living pearl of the evening was Daiana Balettbo—a bright representative of the Ukrainian community, who in 2025 won the proud title of Queen of the Festival.

She radiated incredible grace, harmoniously combining Ukrainian female beauty and Latin American charm. Her exquisite dress, shining crown, and sincere, warm smile dazzled the camera flashes. Daiana became the personification of the mission of the entire festival: she is a living bridge between the Ukrainian heart and the Paraguayan soul, a symbol of beauty that unites worlds.
