The Kyiv Region has announced enrollment for a two-month program titled “Start Your Own Business Workshop,” designed to support internally displaced women who wish to start or restart their own businesses. The Brovary City Council has announced this opportunity.
The initiative is being implemented with the support of the Department of Economy of the Kyiv Regional State Administration and aims to develop entrepreneurship, promote self-employment, and restore economic activity among displaced women. Women with IDP status who are raising children under 18 and reside in Kyiv or the Kyiv region are invited to participate.
As part of the program, participants will attend a four-day in-person training session in Kyiv, scheduled for April 16–19, 2026, after which they will receive individual online consultations and mentoring support. In addition, they will receive help refining their business ideas and developing an effective business model, as well as practical tools for stress management and rebuilding their inner resources.
The final stage will be a presentation of their own business projects. Based on the results, participants will be able to compete for grant support of up to 4,000 euros to develop their businesses. The organizers emphasize that participation requires full engagement in all stages of the training and active collaboration with mentors, and candidates will be selected on a competitive basis.
Applications for participation can be submitted through April 2, 2026. The program is being implemented as part of the “StepUp” project, carried out by the Ukrainian Children’s Welfare Fund with the support of international partners. This initiative is expected to contribute to strengthening the economic independence of displaced women and the development of small businesses in the region.
