Easter of Christ the Light in Zurich: Traditions, Community, and Inspiration

In the magnificent Liebfrauenkirche church in Zurich, the celebration of Christ’s Glorious Resurrection took place, bringing together a large Ukrainian community of the city. The service was led by Father Ivan Machuzhak, and the event was attended by the renowned public figure and organizer Olesia Tarasenko, who provided informational support for the occasion.

The festive liturgy was marked by special solemnity and spiritual upliftment. Those present had the opportunity to participate in the blessing of Easter breads (paski), join in traditional spring circle dances (haivky), and share the atmosphere of brotherhood and unity within Zurich’s Ukrainian community.

According to the organizers, such events are a vital moment for preserving national traditions abroad and supporting the community’s spiritual life. Thanks to coordination and informational support, the event gained wide resonance among Ukrainians in Switzerland, allowing even more people to join the celebrations and feel the joy of Easter.
