Easter in Winterthur: A Space of Strength, Faith, and Ukrainian Unity

The Ukrainian community from various cities across Switzerland gathered this weekend in Winterthur to celebrate the Bright Resurrection of Christ together. The event became a powerful example of unity among Ukrainians abroad, combining spiritual meaning with the development of social connections and community interaction.

The Divine Liturgy was led by Father Ivan Machuzhak. The service stood out for its depth and substance, creating a space for personal reflection and spiritual renewal. Pastor Esther Cartwright also joined the celebration, highlighting openness to intercultural dialogue and mutual respect within the Swiss environment.

A musical highlight of the event was the performance by the ensemble Anima Ruthenica, whose sacred singing enhanced the atmosphere of unity and connection to Ukrainian traditions.

Among the invited guests was Olesia Tarasenko, President of the Ukrainian-Swiss Foundation VIDNOVA and a representative of the “Businesswomen” community in Switzerland, who provided informational support for the event. Her participation emphasized the importance of leadership and effective communication in promoting Ukrainian initiatives on the international stage.

Following the official part, participants continued networking in an informal setting, fostering stronger horizontal connections and the development of new joint projects.

The event in Winterthur reaffirmed that the Ukrainian community in Switzerland is building a sustainable ecosystem of mutual support that brings together spiritual values, civic engagement, and professional initiatives.
