On June 19, a screening of the documentary film “I Remember Your Voice” was held in Yerevan, dedicated to World Refugee Day. The event was organized by the Estonian Refugee Council with the support of the Embassy of Estonia in Armenia.
Among the guests of the event was Olena Shevchuk, President of the public organization Ukrainian Forum NGO, which supports Ukrainian refugees in Armenia, and Advisor to the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights in Armenia.
The documentary tells the story of the experiences of people who were forced to leave their homes due to war, conflicts, and other humanitarian crises. Through personal stories, the filmmakers draw attention to the challenges faced by refugees, as well as the importance of international solidarity and support.
For organizations working with refugees and internally displaced persons, such events serve as an important platform for discussing pressing issues, sharing experiences, and finding new ways to protect the rights of people who were forced to leave their countries due to war or persecution.
World Refugee Day reminds the international community each year of the need to support millions of people worldwide who require protection, safety, and the opportunity to start a new life.
