BUSINESS MEETING WITH IRYNA MUDRA ON COMPENSATION FOR DAMAGES CAUSED BY RF AGGRESSION

Business Woman Club, together with the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, held a meeting between the business community and Iryna Mudra, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, on the topic: “Compensation for Damages to Business Caused by the Aggression of the Russian Federation Against Ukraine.”

The event was moderated by Anna Krysiuk, President of the Business Woman Club.

The event began with a minute of silence in memory of the fallen defenders of Ukraine, as well as all victims of Russian aggression.

Rostyslav Korobka, Vice President of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of consolidating the state, international partners, and the business community to form effective mechanisms for compensating damages to Ukrainian business.

During her speech, Iryna Mudra spoke in detail about the work of the Register of Damage for Ukraine (RD4U) — an international system created by Ukraine, the Council of Europe, the European Union, and dozens of partner states to record damages, losses, and harm caused by the aggression of the Russian Federation. The Register’s headquarters is located in The Hague, and the mechanism itself represents the first stage of the international compensation system for Ukraine.

The meeting participants discussed how the international compensation mechanism is being formed, what legal and diplomatic challenges accompanied the creation of the Register of Damage, and to what extent European partners support the idea of using frozen Russian assets for the future reconstruction of Ukraine and compensation to victims.

Special attention was paid to issues that are critically important for Ukrainian business today:

 how to properly record damages;

 what documents must be preserved;

 what mistakes entrepreneurs make most often;

 what a practical roadmap could look like — from submitting an application to receiving compensation.

The discussion also focused on new opportunities for business within the Register of Damage. In 2026, the international mechanism opened new categories of claims specifically for legal entities, government agencies, and entrepreneurs, particularly regarding damage or loss of assets, non-residential real estate, and loss of business activity.

The meeting participants had the opportunity to ask questions regarding the prospects of compensation, international support for Ukraine, and the role of business associations and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in guiding entrepreneurs through the process of preparing documents and protecting their interests.

Anna Krysiuk thanked the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for their partnership in hosting the meeting, and Iryna Romanivna for her expert and professional explanation of the international legal mechanisms for compensating damages to Ukrainian business.

Business Woman Club systematically conducts a series of such meetings to support business, share expertise, and develop practical solutions for the recovery and development of entrepreneurship in Ukraine.
