ART INTERNATIONAL ZURICH 2026: Ukrainian art as an instrument of cultural diplomacy and international integration

At one of Europe’s leading art events — ART INTERNATIONAL ZURICH 2026 — Ukraine’s cultural presence was presented as a systematic and strategically developed element of international dialogue. The event confirmed that Ukrainian art today is not only being exhibited but is also shaping its own influential position within the global cultural environment.

Among the key participants of the exhibition, the booth of Art Gallery Studio Omelai attracted particular attention from the professional audience, becoming one of the most emotionally rich and conceptually cohesive spaces of the exposition. The gallery presented works by four artists — Ihor Trotsko, Sergey Voit, Viktor Goryaev, and Eduard Shymkiv. Their works formed a multidimensional visual narrative of contemporary Ukrainian art, combining symbolism, expression, and a profound inner dramaturgy of imagery.

Throughout the exhibition, the booth was visited by collectors, curators, representatives of the hospitality industry, and the international art market from Switzerland and various European countries. This level of interest demonstrated the growing demand for Ukrainian art as an intellectually and investment-attractive segment of the contemporary art market.

A significant role in shaping and strengthening Ukraine’s cultural presence was played by the VIDNOVA Swiss-Ukrainian Association, represented by its president Olesia Tarasenko, who is also the director of the Business Woman office in Switzerland. Her activities are consistently aimed at developing international cultural and business communications, as well as integrating Ukrainian initiatives into the European professional space. VIDNOVA’s participation in such projects underscores the importance of cultural diplomacy as a tool for long-term national positioning.

A substantial contribution to the implementation of the project was also made by the team of Art Gallery Studio Omelai and its founder Natalia Omelai, who systematically builds international platforms for Ukrainian artists and ensures their visibility in the global art market.

ART INTERNATIONAL ZURICH 2026 was not merely an exhibition but a space of strategic interaction where art functions as a language of diplomacy, investment, and cultural representation. Within this context, Ukrainian artists were presented as full-fledged participants in the European cultural process.

In conclusion, Ukrainian art today demonstrates steady growth dynamics, strengthening its presence in international institutions and creating new opportunities for partnerships, collaborations, and cultural exchange.
