Olena Shevchuk—an economist, public figure, and head of a number of Ukrainian-Armenian initiatives—has been appointed as the Representative of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Republic of Armenia.
The main areas of activity will include the development of trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and Armenia, the search for business partners, support for the export and import of goods and services, facilitation of investment projects, organization of business missions, B2B contacts, and the development of interaction between entrepreneurs, industry associations, and business communities of the two countries.
Today, mutual trade between Ukraine and Armenia remains relatively small compared to the total foreign trade volumes of both countries, which indicates a significant untapped potential for bilateral economic cooperation. The greatest opportunities for expanding cooperation are opening up in the areas of the agro-industrial complex, food industry, pharmaceuticals, information technology, the jewelry industry, production of construction materials, logistics, mechanical engineering, light industry, and other promising fields.
The representative will also work on engaging Ukrainian and Armenian businesses in new joint projects, searching for investment opportunities, supporting companies in entering new markets, developing partnerships, transferring technology, and utilizing opportunities related to the future rebuilding of Ukraine.
Today, we are recording the baseline indicators of cooperation. At the end of the year, in one year, and in five years, we will return to them to evaluate the results of our joint work and the dynamics of the economic partnership development between Ukraine and Armenia.
