On June 11, a new Record of Ukraine was officially set in the categories of “Mass Events” and “Scale” — “The largest amount of donor blood donated by border guards in a single day.” This is reported by the Book World Records.
Servicemen of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine from various regions of the country joined this large-scale donor initiative. In total, 436 border guards participated in setting the record, collectively donating 196 liters and 200 grams of donor blood.

The record-breakers included the 6th Volyn Border Guard Detachment, the 94th Border Guard Detachment, the 27th Border Guard Detachment named after the Heroes of the Carpathian Sich, the 7th Carpathian Border Guard Detachment, the 31st Border Guard Detachment named after General-Khorunzhii Oleksandr Pylkevych, and the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
However, the main value of this event lies not only in the record result. Every day, donor blood saves the lives of wounded military personnel, civilians, children, and everyone in need of urgent assistance. That is why this initiative has become an example of true responsibility, solidarity, and service to people.

Ganna Krysiuk, General Director and Founder of the Book of World Records, joined the event online, officially announcing the start of the record-setting process and noting the importance of the donor movement in today’s conditions.
The recording of the achievement was carried out by representatives of the Book of World Records in different regions of Ukraine. The work involved representatives in the Lviv region, Nadiia Lozan and Ivan Lozan, the representative in the Zakarpattia region, Anna Meleganych, as well as the brand ambassador of the Book of World Records and representative in the Chernivtsi region, Bishop Theognost Bodoriak.

This record became a symbol of unity and solidarity among Ukrainians. It proved once again that true records are measured not only by numbers but also by the number of lives saved, support for one’s neighbors, and readiness to help those who need it most.
Today, Ukrainian border guards not only defend the state border but also demonstrate an example of civic responsibility that inspires the entire country.
