On April 3, 2026, in the settlement of Kotsiubynske (Kyiv region), a national record of Ukraine was officially established in the “First Time” category.

The record was recognized for the achievement: “The only woman in Ukraine — a library director who, at the age of over 55, served as a soldier in a volunteer formation of a territorial community.”
The record holder is Iryna Oleksandrivna Akimova, who served from March 5, 2022, to January 1, 2026, successfully combining her professional responsibilities with her civic duty.

The record certification took place as part of the national-patriotic sports and cultural event “Spirit of the Nation: Strength and Unity,” dedicated to the anniversary of the liberation of territories from occupation. The event brought together school and university students, representatives of educational institutions from Kyiv and various communities, as well as military personnel, educators, and public figures, united by the ideas of strength, unity, and resilience of the Ukrainian people.

Special recognition was given to the Kotsiubynske territorial community, represented by its head Serhii Danish, for supporting the establishment of the record.

The record was officially documented by Hanna Krysiuk, General Director of the Book of World Records, along with representatives of the organization and members of the international community Business Woman Club — Yuliia Slaiman and Yaroslava Boyarkina.
As part of the event, the book “100 Records of Ukraine and the World” was also presented, engaging students and all attendees.
This record has become a powerful example of civic responsibility, strength of spirit, and dedication to Ukraine, highlighting the important role of women in defending the country and contributing to community life.
