A large-scale medical project “Healthy Mother — Healthy Child” has been launched in the Kherson region to support families in a frontline area

Within the framework of the 38th humanitarian mission of the International Headquarters for Aid to Ukrainians in the Kherson region, the implementation of the social and medical project “Healthy Mother — Healthy Child” has been officially launched.

The key location was the Kherson Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital, which was visited by the mission participants. The delegation inspected the facility and spoke with medical staff about the hospital’s most urgent needs.

Humanitarian aid was delivered to the medical institution, including:

• hygiene products
• baby diapers
• cosmetic products
• educational games
• coloring books and stationery for children

This assistance became the result of joint efforts by international and Ukrainian partners.

In particular, the aid was provided by the charitable foundation “Sky of Ukraine,” the charitable foundation “Ukraine. Aid. Breitscheid named after Saint Lawrence,” founder and professor of engineering and physics Heinrich Benner, the foundation’s curator in Ukraine Vasyl Petruk, the public organization “Kropyvnytskyi Regional Women’s Initiative” (Maria Chorna), the Kirovohrad Regional Center for Children and Youth Creativity, the public organization “MOZHU” (Alina Skomorokhova), as well as participants, mentors, and partners of the Business Woman Club — Hanna Krysiuk, Borjanka Simičević, Andrii Dzhuranovych, Artem Trufanov, Raisa Mykhailova, and Yuliia Slaiman.

As part of the project, the Kherson Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital, the Union “World Ukrainians,” and the charitable foundation “Sky of Ukraine” signed a memorandum of cooperation, opening opportunities for joint coordination of medical support in the region and the development of long-term initiatives in the field of motherhood and childhood.

It is important that international partners have already joined the initiative, including representatives from Germany (NordHaus UA, Oksana Shoorlemmer), the NGO “MOZHU” (Alina Skomorokhova), Slovenia (Halyna Malovšek), as well as interested donors and partners from Denmark, Finland, Luxembourg, and other countries that are part of the International Headquarters for Aid to Ukrainians.

The Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, also took part in the project launch and hospital visit. He had previously initiated cooperation with the headquarters to support and restore important social facilities in the region.

The “Healthy Mother — Healthy Child” project has a clear practical goal — to restore two specialized rooms in the hospital’s basement premises:

• a dental office
• an examination room for mother and child

The project also предусматривает providing these premises with the necessary medical equipment and tools for at least one year of operation.

Additionally, the purchase of an ambulance vehicle is planned, equipped with a specialized chair for dental procedures and examinations of mothers and children. This mobile unit will allow medical assistance to be provided in remote and frontline areas, where residents often find it difficult to reach medical facilities in cities.

“I would like to thank the Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration for the attention to this institution in need of support, all donors and partners, as well as the participants of the humanitarian mission who were not afraid to go to the frontline, assess the real situation, and contribute to supporting such initiatives,” said Hanna Krysiuk, Head of the International Headquarters.

The implementation of the project aims to improve access to basic medical services for children and mothers in the region and to create safe conditions for providing assistance even under constant threats.
